Academic Committee (Semester Transition)
At our committee meeting yesterday some concerns were brought up regarding advisors and the upcoming transition. We have scheduled a meeting with the head of the transition steering committee to see if wwe as student government members can help close the gap of confusion in the upcoming months. We have several ideas to go over during this meeting so be sure to check back soon for details.
The new map system is up.
Students can run what if audits to see how their quarter classes will fill out their DARS
once we transition to semesters. This system in coordinating with the new TAP website, which is set up to be a one stop shop for student, faculty and pretty much anyone that needs to find information regarding the transition. The GPS is also up and running which shows what degree requirements will be like once we are on a semester system. Each college is in different stages of converting their course catalog to semester format and updating class descriptions as well as pre-requisites. (See me for more specific details).
All in all the committee feels we are in good shape. Our sister schools, Sinclair and Clark State gave their reports as well and seem to be doing well when it comes to informing their students what they can expect from WSU if and when they decide to transfer credit.
