Position
College of Liberal Arts Senator

My name is Jamie Plamondon and I am excited to work more closely with the university and members of CoLA by promoting collaboration throughout the college by becoming a senator within Student Government. With a major in International Studies and a double minor in French and Political Science, my future objectives include a career in diplomatic relations; I desire to work within a system that promotes world peace, stability and prosperity. I have had the opportunity to be a member of Wright State’s Model United Nations Team which has provided a renewed understanding of the world and has introduced me to many wonderful people within University. I strive to use knowledge gained through communication between the students, CoLA and Wright State University to motivate our members to achieve a more productive means of partnership and to advocate for student needs and concerns. As a member of the Dean’s Student Advisory Board for the College of Liberal Arts, I look forward to the advancement of inclusiveness between the college and Student Government to enhance the various Liberal Arts programs. I am so excited to be a part of Student government; I look forward to working with everyone to help make the college experience better for Wright State students. It will be wonderful to see the College of Liberal Arts grow and have the opportunity to serve the students in their areas of interest and get to know where their passions lie. Not only will it be awesome working with these talented people in SG and in CoLA, it will also be such a great experience that will help strengthen my organizational and leadership skills. I plan to address concerns of the students in the College of Liberal Arts and of Wright State University such as greater collaboration with the Creative Arts Center and to promote more interaction between students and their advisers so their educational experience and opportunities can be enhanced. I also plan to advocate for more participants in the Dean's Student Advisory Board, so the College of Liberal arts can be strengthened internally to allow for a more effective college experience.
