My name is Zach Rupert, I will be a junior mechanical engineering student next year. I am the 09-10 Senator of College of Engineer and Computer Science. I have been active within American Society of Mechanical Engineering holding different positions such as secretary of external affairs and fund raising chair. I am participating in the Deans Leadership Institute during the 09-10 school year. In addition, I have also been active in Greek Life through Phi Sigma Phi Fraternity. In high school I was very involved with sports, clubs, and academics and now in college I am still trying to stay involved as much as I can. I feel student government would be a great way I can stay involved and get to meet people and experience things regular students might not get to do. My goals for next year are to set up more Co-op opportunities for students and promote student involvement within the college. I also want to continue to help with the Dean's Student Advisory Board and help fund the newsletter. I believe this newsletter will help keep students informed on topics and events that are important to the college. In addition, I would like to add a section for all the clubs/organizations in the college. I am really looking forward to the next school year.
